A Study of Surface & Stem

Kismet — The Vernal Edition

Kismet — The Vernal Edition

The Narrative The Kismet is a celebration of the desert in bloom. Hand-block printed with a vibrant collision of rust and rose botanicals, underscored by refreshing aqua and sun-drenched yellow, it is designed to bring a soulful energy to your home’s most intentional surfaces.

The Materiality Crafted from heavyweight slub-weave cotton, the fabric offers a rich, tactile grain and a structural presence that standard linens cannot match.

The Craft Each piece is printed in small batches using traditional heritage techniques. Because no two are identical, your selection is a unique work of art for your living space.

On the Console

Make a bold first impression. The Kismet’s rust and aqua tones pop beautifully against neutral entryway walls and brass accents.

On the Island

Infuse your kitchen with morning warmth. The heavy slub texture provides a durable, artisanal anchor for white marble or light wood islands.

On the Sideboard

The centerpiece of a curated home. Use the pink and yellow motifs to tie together eclectic decor and vintage glassware during evening gatherings.

Care Instructions
  • Gentle Hand Wash: To maintain the vibrant clarity of the hand-blocked motifs, we recommend a gentle hand wash in cold water.
  • Mild Detergent: Use a mild liquid detergent to protect the color-fastness of the dyes and the softness of the cotton.
  • Avoid Bleach: Never use bleach or harsh oxidizing agents, as these can break down the fibers and dull the print.
  • Dry Flat: Lay your runner flat to dry in a shaded area. Avoiding direct sunlight helps prevent the colors from fading over time.
  • Steam or Iron: If desired, iron on the reverse side while the fabric is slightly damp to restore the crisp, structural grain of the slub weave.
The Designer's Note

This piece bridges the gap between traditional craft and modern minimalism. It is meant to be lived with, touched, and admired.
